At this time, the training was hard for all of us. We learned about criticism. For most of us it doesn’t mean critical thinking, but mainly hostility. Criticism is a thing, that we’ve all met and rarely came out of it well. That’s why it was surprising that we were going to be deal with it for two days.
However, after the first day, it turned out to be very useful to learn about it: we also discovered new concepts such as “rebound criticism” (when someone tells a criticism not to the person concerned, but to someone from whom the person concerned recalls).
On the second day, we were greatful for the lessons learned earlier, such as: ’listen to the needs underneath the words’ and ’connecting with our needs’. The purpose of our practice was to transform criticism through understanding and attention. Our mind slowly but surely changed from defense- to developement-orientation regarding of criticism for us. The trainers assured us that this attitude can be learned.
In fact, the transformation of criticism is an important part of our methodology, so everyone has admitted that practicing this is vital in today’s world. Experts agreed that during the workshop, this training experience should be developed and the lessons learned should be incorporated into the methodology.
