Presentation of the operating area of the applicant organization

The ‘Erőmű’ Association operates in the field of social convergence, provides cultural, public education and social innovation services.
One of our main goals is to shape and change public awareness, and focus local art energies on the social shortages and problems to be solved.

The ‘Erőmű’ Association started out as a self-organizing community committed to the implementation of the cultural-artistic program, which is completely independent of civilian, political and economic interests, working in the spirit of experimentation, development and continuous innovation. The association works with intellectual property to help create a proper environment for those who admitted themselves as creators to give from best of their human essence to the delight of themselves and others.

Our members are among those who believe that there is a need to unite all who do not want to admit that there is nothing behind / after the daily struggle. They also have a need for diversity, because diversity promotes creation. The task of the ‘Erőmű’ Association is to give strength to creation and to social inclusion. We believe that there are no privileged areas, and arts are just part of the culture, as well as behaviors and knowledge techniques that make life acceptable, bearable and creative.
We believe that people who are willing to think together need a place that is their field of action, beyond their faith and ideas.
Our association wants to integrate our actions into the city strategy. The aim is that to make Miskolc “a city of culture and knowledge.”
The association’s activities so far served mainly to introduce, encircle, and co-operate with East-Central European artists, but in the recent past, embrasing the other activity needs of members in city strategy, not only cultural but knowledge – and engaging in the fields of science as well as being committed to the social sensitization of local society, in promoting the dialogue between different ethnic groups and cultures.

With its social innovation activity, it will create functional technologies in the form of system plans and then organize the institutes in a transnational network and develop action research programs, with the appropriate IT system, trainings, data processing and analysis.

Our specific goal is to foster cooperation with organizations with similar goals. Whit this predictably high-impact program that goes beyond the usual petty country-wailing, and finally the many “need” will be replaced with confident “there is”, giving Miskolc the chance to stop and reverse population and quality erosion, and to eliminate the consequences of the “steel city” past.

In summary: From the very beginning our area of operation was the intellectual-cultural convergence and disadvantage compensation of the region, and we want to continue to work in this area as well, to set intellect and culture into work in order to raise everyday life and create opportunities for disadvantaged social groups.
