We are very pleased that at our workshop in February the Hámori Waldorf School of Miskolc was also represented. In 2019, the international Waldorf pedagogy approach will be a century-old, so certainly it not need to be presented in details. It also shows its popularity that there are more than 23 schools and 40 kindergartens in Hungary now. In Hungary, the first Waldorf school was opened in 1989 and they set the goal to use epochal teaching methodology (divided into sections) in contrast to the traditional state curriculum and textbook-based teaching. They teach several related activities too (arts, crafts, sport), which helps to keep awaken and nurture the ability of thinking of the children, as this is necessary to be an adult with a healthy body, soul and spirit. Self-knowledge, human knowledge, and personal development support are also in the centre. For Waldorf institutions, it is very important to keep the consistency between their three pillars (children, teachers, and parents). They are constantly engaged in strengthening the relationship between the pillars, organizing joint activities, joint learning, decreasing parental involvement and cooperation in school life.
