On day 5 of the Opening Conference we had a workshop, and we put interprofessionalism in our focus. The starting question was: what interprofessionality means to us? During the workshop, the participants gave the following answers: Interprofessionality is an approach, a view, spirit, attitude, activity, thinking, unused opportunity, and all of them all. Perhaps we can summarize all these words with the word and concept of cooperation.
Accordingly to this, we agreed in our own definition of interprofessionalism (referred as IP): Interprofessional work is the temporary or longer-term business, communication and cooperation of two or more professionals, who, with using the beneficial effect of group dynamics, the collaborators share their existing and produced knowledge and resources with each other in order to achieve a shared goal or attain the commonly defined, determined, synergistic, creative approaches. There is a need to have a multitude of disciplines underpinning the interprofessional activity, as well as a significant community of experts and knowledge. We have the chance to have all of these these conditions under our current project.
