The first day of our meeting started adventurously. A group of arrivals got into trouble due to a broken car on the highway. It was a pleasure to see how quickly the situation was resolved, as the rest of the team solved all the logistical issues with the help of the turn and helpfulness. This situation, though commonplace, has become very important to us. This is the first time we felt that we were safe as a cohesive community and could build on our cooperation.
After everyone had arrived, the participants gave a status report on recent progress and issues raised in the project. We agreed that three days of workshop would be spent learning about and practicing the three core technologies that underlie our methodology. The first day was followed by dinner and free talk and getting to know each other.
The next day, we started with the introduction of value-conscious thinking, as one among the three core technologies. In the course of the workshop, we collected the value factors which make us felt effective and satisfactory for the 6 days ahead. The collected factors were refined in a small group according to our methodological bases: definition, description, example, measurement method – in order to create factors that can be evaluated for everyone. The results of the small groups were pooled in the presence of the whole group. The highest weighted factors for everyone are:
Cohesiveness – The emotional alliance of team members is so cohesive that they preserve relationship quality and are “ready-to-go”
Exemplary Value – We put into practice something that can and should be copied
Empathic attention – The quality and intensity of your attention while listening to me
Openness – Distortion-filter-free information processing
Activity – Participate in all community activities with intrinsic motivation
